tonight! ARTWALK at SYRUP DESSERTS + ecco lounge!

tonight i will be body painting at artwalk in downtown la

i will be there at 7 and will probably work until about 1030pm

afterwards my dear friend randy kiramas is having people over at ecco lounge in hollywood

‘thursday is the new friday’ he says, i love it!

i celebrated my birthday at ecco lounge last month, hence missing the last artwalk

and then tomorrow - 650 north! im excited about the body painting! hopefully i will see you guys there~

helllooooo JULY!

i have a very exciting month planned ahead -

first off, i want to thank ALIVENOTDEAD.com for having me as apart of the ‘Emerging Artists’ discussion panel at the japanese american national museum - it was a great experience! special thanks to lisa von and mark allen for the support and having me apart of the show, and thank you to my models, stephanie, neddy, diana, and her girl friend. very special thanks to rodo riot aka ZORRO YABUT! and nat s. for being my photographers for the night (they have been swamped with other work, therefore i dont have the official photos of the night) thanks to dinh for being my videographer and charles for shooting pictures. thanks to everybody who showed up, my parents that flew in to la to watch me paint, and my friends and students for coming - i was blessed to have the support

a very, very special thank you to my boyfriend, jason, who busted his hand and still helped me deliver the canvases and paintings to the museum. he’s my rock, not only did he help organize all of his friends to come, but on the way over to the museum he reminded me that i forgot my paints.. which, well, would have been a disaster to say the least. he keeps me grounded, without him, i would still be leaving the house without shoes on.

Pretty anxious about the show tonight, most of the paintings are new inventory…

not a lot, but enough for a small showing. plus i have about four body models

(phew! im going to die, thats a lot of work!!) i have painted three at a time

before and i swore i would never do it again, haha.

“Emerging as an Artist in Today’s Global New Media” show .

so im really excited about the next showing :

Mark Allen has set up the second meeting for artist online community “AliveNotDead.Com” - the meet is a Giant Robot Affiliation, and it features a panel are four mainstream artists who will discuss making it out as an artist.

ive done some work with mark allen as an illustrator for background props - the illustrations were used for carrie underwood concerts. mark allen works as a screenwriter, composer, and director. check out more of his work at:

Alive Not Dead is an artist community for all types of artists across the board. i’ve kept in touch with interesting people and have made great networks through this site. this upcoming showing is a discussion panel, where artists including ’scorpion kings’ and ‘x-men II’s’ kelly hu will be talking about being an artist today in today’s global mainstream media.

KATSUYA [body paint] 5.25.10

last night i was body painting in the lounge of KATSUYA in the americana shopping center in glendale

katsuya has a second floor which is used as a very sexy louge - kana curated an all girls show called ‘ladies first’ - she asked if i could come in and show off work. instead, i brought in a commission painting plus live-model body painting as performance art.

this nights models is the return of erica eng - she started her own film-production company by the age of twenty, and she edits, produces, shoots her own work. nick is also known as ’slick’, and you might have seen him on MTV’s america’s best dance crew or in music videos such as black eye peas or nicki minaj. kate is visiting from out of town and i decided last minute to use her as well.

my photographers for the night are the talented ZORRO YABUT! aka rodo riot and kerry lam. they are awesome! the following photos are by rodo ~

syrup desserts [artwalk] 5.14.10

so every month, i live body paint on a couple of models at SYRUP DESSERTS - Syrup Desserts is a dessert shop in downtown los angeles that serves home made waffles, crepes, and makes their own specialty teas. its a local hot spot and rates mostly four or five stars on yelp.com. i have artwork at syrup desserts, and every month i body paint inside the restaurant in order to promote the place.

this months models is the theme of brains and beauty: katrina palomara, born and raised in the philipines is a scientist but also works hollywood at night as an event promoter. army chung is a ucla grad - smart as hell, she wants to further pursue education. she also works as a korean translator, voice over actress, and is a promotional model. i had great reviews that they were.. well… easy on the eyes, haha.

my videographer, dinh thai, had the girls and i facing the restaurant window (more footage from dinh will br provided later)

from the window - his head his down but hokuto konishi from MTV’s ‘america’s best dance crew’ was kind enough to make time and visit me at syrup. hokuto is a talented breaker and a phenomenal illustrator/graphic artist.
